Do What You Want, Go Anywhere
Some engagement sessions are sweet and simple… and then there are the ones where you wake up at the crack of dawn, drive an hour into the hills of Middle Tennessee, and make the whole morning an adventure. This session was exactly that.
We started at Narrows of the Harpeth, just 20 minutes from Nashville, TN, hiking 2 miles up the mountain to catch the sunrise. Fog rolled through the trees, soft and ethereal, like a scene straight out of Pride and Prejudice (2005). The golden light, the quiet of the forest, and their laughter made it feel like we had stepped into another world.
After our sunrise session, we hiked back down to a seasonal waterfall and explored, climbing over rocks and dipping toes in the water. We tried prompts, poses, and spontaneous moments- it was playful, genuine, and full of energy. And just when we thought the session couldn’t get any better, we decided we needed a field.
We drove down back roads, and when we spotted a kind gentleman in his front yard, we simply asked if he knew of any nearby fields. One simple “yes” later, we found the perfect open field on public property, and the session turned golden- literally. Sun streaming through trees, wide open space, and two people just being themselves.
The best part? This session reminded me that your engagement session can be whatever you want it to be. Hike a mountain. Chase a waterfall. Ask a stranger. Dance in a field. If you can dream it, I’ll be right there with you to make it happen. Adventure, spontaneity, and real connection- that’s what makes photos unforgettable.
By the end of the morning, cameras full of magic and hearts full of energy, we left with more than just photos. We left with a reminder: ask, explore, and do what feels right- because the best moments happen when you go all in.
